a moment like this. {traveling homecoming photographer}

I remember very clearly the first time I ever watched American Idol. It was the season finale of season 1. Kelly Clarkson had just won and was giving a very moving (and choked up) performance of "A Moment Like This." It was then that I fell in love with the song and the line

some people wait a lifetime, for a moment like this
When you're apart of the Marine Corps (or any military branch for that matter), you are extremely blessed to get to relive the excitement and butterflies of first kisses and the nervousness of seeing the love of your life the first time. Remember when you walked down the aisle and made eye contact for the first time? Those butterflies that went crazy in your tummy? Those are the same butterflies felt on homecoming day, and some people wait a lifetime for that moment, for those moments.

I was blessed to be apart of Ashley and Jay's homecoming. I didn't think I would be able to shoot it because he was due to come home the day I was leaving. But as fate would have it, he came home a few days earlier than expected. I'll probably share more over the next couple of days as I get things finished up. Tip: Don't leave your laptop at home, bring it with you! Edit as you go, don't go 18 days and then expect to be able to edit through 18 days worth of pictures easily!

The first two are the same, but I couldn't decide which one I liked better. I think I love them both...Even though, it's the same image in the camera, the edits give them two distinct feels.
